Dear Dr. Dale,
I wanted to thank you for all of your help! I have had a chronic knot in my right shoulder that was always sore and, in late June, I was diagnosed with Type II Diabetes. I was also starting to have constant dull "stress" headaches and numbness in my right hand and fingers. This, combined with my shoulder pain, resulted in not being able to get a full night's sleep and since I would lay awake in bed for several hours, I was always feeling tired. Just before the 4th of July, I came to you for an evaluation and started a series of adjustments. I was cynical, but I was willing to try anything.
Within a few weeks, the knot in my shoulder was gone for the first time in 20 years and the numbness and headaches disappeared. For the first time in many years, I was getting a full night's sleep and my energy and personal motivation returned. We discussed the effectiveness of the vitamins and fish oils that I was taking and I switched to vitamins and liquid fish oils that you recommended. I was then in an accident where a semi-truck hit me from behind, the car went across four lanes of traffic of the freeway and ended up in the fast lane backwards, facing the oncoming traffic. Within two weeks of continuing adjustments, my neck and shoulders relaxed and the soreness and stiffness went away.
A month later, I had my annual physical and the first thing my doctor asked was what I was doing differently. My blood sugar was only a few points above the baseline for a diabetes diagnosis and my cholesterol unexpectedly dropped 35 points. It certainly wasn't due to exercise or a change in diet because the only thing I had been doing differently was seeing you. When we discussed your philosophy that my body had been in a prolonged stage of the fight/flight reflex, I knew that most doctors do not believe in Chiropractors. I was really pleased and surprised when my doctor said to keep doing whatever I was doing because it was working. No more cynicism or skepticism here.
At the same time, it was announced that the law firm I work at had signed a new lease and we would be moving our office (37 employees and occupying a full floor) in just 36 days. This was one of the most stressful periods I have ever had in my 25-year career and on many days, the stress and soreness would return to my neck and shoulders. I really looked forward to my adjustments and sometimes, I came in during the middle of the day just to relieve the soreness. One day as I walked back into the office after an adjustment, I was met by three people who had been looking for me and urgently needed something. My reaction was very different than it would have been three months ago. I put my purse down at the front desk and told all three of them, "Bring it on. I'm good to go."
Thank you for helping me feel better, sleep better, and have a much more positive attitude! My doctor, co-workers and family have all commented that they notice the change over the past three months.
